Western Diet

They are also found in animal meats from the animals that are fed the grains of corn, soy, wheat and barley. Refined carbohydrates are mainly flours from corn, soy, and wheat.
Studies have shown that if you rely heavily on a diet of processed foods (junk food), you will invite diseases classified as autoimmune, chronic inflammation, Syndrome X, or cancer. We make no health claims or health cures for EMA. The health benefits listed below are for raw vegetables, and cold pressed vegetable juices in general. We refer to these juices as raw vegetable juices or RVJ.
The following is a list of beneficial effects of RVJ’s. Some of the health giving properties overlap because the nutrients have a multiple effect; for example, liver health is connected to skin condition.
Aging: Slows down the aging process.
Alkaline: It is alkaline forming which reduces the acidity of blood. A ratio of 75% alkalizing and 25% acidifying is good. Alkaline producing foods include fruits, vegetables, herbs, and legumes (beans and peas). RJV’S strongly promotes blood alkalinity when taken with alkaline producing foods.
Too much acid
An acid bloodstream with a pH of less than 7, is caused by overly strenuous exercise, stress, lack of rest, too much fried food, meat (more than 50 g or 2 ounces per day), colas, alcohol, sugar, dairy, coffee, salt, and refined carbohydrates. Too much acid impairs the immune system. Connective tissues are weakened, causing skin and hair to lose tone. Colds, infections, headaches, inflammation become more common. Vitamins and minerals are not absorbed well. The acidic body has been associated with cancer, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue and poor skin quality.
A study of 1,100 women published the British Journal of Nutrition in 2008 found a strong link between acidic diet and increased risk of being overweight, having elevated blood pressure and having raised cholesterol. Other studies have found an acidic diet increases the stress hormone cortisol.
Anemia: Chlorophyll aids in rebuilding the bloodstream and is an important blood builder. In various animal studies, red cell counts returned to normal within 4 to 5 days from the administration of chlorophyll, even in animals known to be extremely anemic. The molecular structure of chlorophyll closely resembles that of blood hemoglobin, and is thought to be the evolutionary precursor of hemoglobin. The major difference is that the central atom of chlorophyll is magnesium while hemoglobin contains iron.
Anti-inflammatory: RJV’S contains natural anti-inflammatory compounds such as omega 3 fatty acids, that work without any of the harmful side effects associated with steroids like cortisone. Omega 3 fatty acids are the foundation of a family of anti-inflammatory compounds.
Antifungal and antibacterial: Chlorophyll arrests the growth and development of unfriendly bacteria and fungi, especially candida, by producing an unfavourable environment to grow. It strengthens the immune system. Gargle with RJV’S juice for a sore throat.
Antioxidants: The high levels of antioxidants in a high quality green food are the front line of defence in the war on destructive free radicals that will destroy the ability of cells to repair, renew, and rejuvenate. The destructive action of free radicals are a major cause of aging. Like other plant pigments, chlorophyll produces significant antioxidant effects. It contains a powerful antioxidant that prevents the build up of hydrogen peroxide in fat tissues and cells, especially in the brain, where it is extremely destructive.
The science of free radicals and antioxidants is, according to a mountain of literature and thousands of alternative practitioners, indisputable. Antiviral: By strengthening the immune system it is antiviral.
Atherosclerosis: Hardening of the Arteries: This is hardening of the artery walls due to a buildup and accumulation of plaque containing cholesterol, fatty material, and cellular debris within the artery wall. It narrows the artery and raises blood pressure. It is caused by eating foods in the “Western” or “Industrial Food” diet.
It is responsible for heart attacks (20% of deaths) and cerebral vascular disease (mainly strokes) which is the third most common cause of death (heart attack, cancers, strokes). Altogether cardiovascular diseases account for over 43% of all diseases in the United States and Canada.
Arterial damage starts with a weak arterial wall that is injured by blood flow and pressure. Cholesterol (LDL, the “bad” cholesterol) and fats collect at the site. This attracts blood platelets which form a clot – forming clots is the function of platelets. The clot and fats start to oxidize from oxygen in the blood. The clot grows and becomes inflamed from the action of inflammatory agents (prostaglandins 2) which turns the clot into a sticky mess. It can get bigger and block off the artery, or break off and block an artery somewhere else. If in the brain, it stops blood flow and causes a stroke. A memory aid is WIFOI (Weakness, Injury, Fats, Oxidation, Inflammation).
Preventing and reversing atherosclerosis involves:
1) Strengthening the tissues of the artery wall to prevent injury: RJV’S do this by providing flavonoids, minerals, and essential fatty acids (especially Omega 3) that strengthen the artery walls.
2) Reducing LDL (bad) cholesterol while raising HDL (good) cholesterol: RJV’S do this by providing the right essential fatty acids (especially Omega 3) when combined with a diet following the “Basic Rules”.
3) Slow or stop oxidation: RJV’S provide antioxidants such as chlorophyll, carotenes, and minerals.
4) Inhibit platelet aggregation that forms clots within the cholesterol and fats in the artery. RJV’S promote an alkaline bloodstream and promotes the formation of anti inflammatory agents (prostaglandins 1 and 3).
There are variants of EMA such as additions of capsicum (from peppers) and garlic oil that will be more aggressive than regular EMA.
RJV’S used in conjunction with following the “Basic Rules” (in Health Section) can stop the causes of atherosclerosis and cholesterol build up in arteries, and reverse the build up. The result is an arterial cleanout that reduces blood pressure and sends blood carrying nutrients and oxygen to muscles, brain, and organs. When plaque is removed from arteries, a number of things happen: 1) blood pressure drops making it easier for the heart to pump blood, 2) there is more blood being delivered to heart muscles making the heart more efficient, 3) the brain receives a better blood supply resulting in better brain function, 4) more oxygen, nutrients, and minerals are delivered to all tissues and organs permitting them to function well. More stamina, sharper thinking, and a sense of well being develop.
Bones: it contains vitamin K1 which is vital in building strong bones.

Cancer: Anticancer effects as noted in the journal, Cancer Prevention: “Chlorophyll inhibits the metabolic activity of carcinogens, it deactivates carcinogens in the liver, and fights tumors without the use of toxic drugs. The family of omega 3 fatty acids (DHA, EPA, and LNA) originates with the omega 3 fatty acid, LNA, or alpha linolenic acid, found in RJV’S. Over 200 studies have shown that eating high amounts of fruits and vegetables lowers your risk of cancer. The omega 3 fatty acids delay the appearance of tumors in animals and make them grow more slowly and reduce the risk of metastasis. Several pilot studies have shown that omega 3 fatty acids can decrease excessive cell growth in people with colon cancer or who have early signs of the disease. Animal studies show that omega 3 fatty acids increase the effectiveness of a number of traditional cancer therapies, including surgery and chemotherapy.
The Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine states; “Thousands upon thousands of nutritional research studies provide ample evidence that vitamins do help prevent and treat serious diseases, including cancer and heart disease, when nutrients are supplied in sufficiently high doses”. Half of people are vitamin D and K deficient alone, putting us at increased risk for fractures, cancer, heart disease, and a whole host of autoimmune diseases.

Chlorophyll: The chlorophyll in grain grass juice is superior to water soluble powdered chlorophyll which is the type most sold in health food stores. Water soluble chlorophyll, or powdered greens, is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore its practical use is limited to treating ulcerative conditions of the skin and gastrointestinal tract, and healing skin wounds. Fat soluble chlorophyll which is the type found in grain grass juice, is absorbed easily by the body, and contains other components of the chloroplast (plant structure containing chlorophyll) complex including beta-carotene and vitamin K1 that possess significant health benefits. Chlorophyll is beneficial for conditions of hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), high blood pressure (hypertension), and arthritis. Studies of various animals have shown chlorophyll to be free of toxic reaction.
Chlorophyll rebuilds the bloodstream. In those animals which were known to be extremely anemic or low in red cell count the red cell count was returned to normal within 4 to 5 days of the administration of chlorophyll,
In the American Journal of Surgery (1940) Benjamin Gruskin, MD, recommends chlorophyll for it’s antiseptic benefits. The article suggests the following clinical uses for chlorophyll: to clear up foul smelling odors, reduces or eliminates fecal odor, neutralize strep infections, heal wounds, hasten skin grafting, cure chronic sinusitis, overcome chronic inner ear inflammation and infections, reduce varicose veins and heal leg ulcers, eliminate impetigo (staph infection) and other scabby eruptions. Heal rectal sores, treat inflammation of the uterine cervix, get rid of parasitic vaginal infections, reduce typhoid fever, and cure advanced pyorrhea (gum disease).
Cleanser: Cleanses the body by removing cellular waste, and may even help equalize hormonal levels. Chlorophyll’s ability to combine with oxygen helps remove foreign matter including pesticide residues from the walls of blood vessels. By doing this, it increases heart function and therefore facilitates blood flow and benefits the vascular system, intestines, uterus, and lungs.
Colon wall: Good for healing and detoxifying the colon wall. After an enema, wait 20 minutes then implant 4 oz of RJV’S. Retain for 20 minutes.

How used: Drink cool, as fresh as possible (within 1 week of extraction), on a daily basis for maximum benefit– it is absorbed immediately into the bloodstream. Take either 4 ounces with water 15 minutes before breakfast, or 2 oz. in the morning and 2 oz. at night before bed. Take 10 minutes before exercising.
Beginners should take 1 ounce per day for the first week. After the first week take 4 to 6 ounces per day. For sickness or cleansing take 4 to 8 ounces per day. Skip a day per week to get the greatest benefit. Although there are no harmful side effects, any food or herb taken day after day will lose some of its effect unless periodic breaks are taken, allowing the body’s adaptive mechanism to relax.
Negative reactions to EMA:
1. Taste: Only a few people enjoy the taste of this powerful drink, and some simply can’t stand it. This is due to the bitterness of the high concentration of chlorophyll. This is easily overcome by mixing the RJV’S juice with your favorite juice. Examples are: carrot, apple / carrot, carrot / ginger / lemon.
2. Nausea: Some people feel nauseous after drinking EMA straight, and never try it again. They are usually the ones who need its cleansing power the most. Solutions to this are: a) mix it with a juice, b) drink a glass of water before and after, c) hold the juice in your mouth for several minutes before swallowing, d) do a cleansing diet or fast, then improve your diet so the toxins don’t build up again and create the nauseous feeling.
3. Wheat Allergy: When wheat is sprouted and grown into a young grass, it is considered a vegetable, not a grain, and the substances that cause an allergic response (gluten) in many people are absent and are easily digested.
